The root formation in garlic is like it is in onion and leek. The plant has a very dense root formation and its roots are branched very rarely. A very important part of the roots (75%) is perforated 20-25 cm deep of the soil. Depending on the plant development and soil structure, roots reaching to a depth of 50 cm are also observed. Plant holds well the soil with its roots and makes good use of the nutrients in the volume that the roots spread.
